There are two planning applications for Hullbridge on this weeks list.
One of them, for Tyndale House, has been long-awaited and can be read here. Tyndale house is sheltered accommodation for the over 55’s (over 50’s in certain circumstances) and is owned by Sanctuary Housing but managed by Rochford Housing Association.
The plan is to reduce the number of units within the main building from 29 to 23. This allows them to remove bedsit accommodation and allow everyone to have a flat with a bedroom and their own bathroom, rather than some having to share facilities as at present. Other work will also be done to modernise the building as follows.
Demolish single storey link and construct two storey link extension incorporating lift, revised windows and doors, provide balconies and patio areas, provide roof lights, construct two conservatories, apply external render to projecting gables and internal alterations to reduce existing 29 no. flats to 23.no flats.
The recommended decision from officers for this application is to Approve it.
The second application is for Halcyon Caravan Park, Pooles Lane, Hullbridge. This is a residential Park Home site with around 30-40 Park Homes on it which has historic permission for a large number of additional holiday homes. The application can be read here but the basic proposal is to remove a clause only allowing occupation of the holiday home for 10 months a year, as follows.
Application to remove Condition 1 to Planning Permission EEC/ROC/581/62 Dated 5th November 1963 (As Revised by Appeal Decision to Application ROC/546/82 Dated 17th August 1983) to Delete the Following Condition;
Caravans shall only be occupied during the period 1st February to 30th November in each year.
And Substitute the Following Conditions;
In Connection with the holiday part of the site:-(i) the caravans are occupied for holiday purposes only;(ii) the caravans shall not be occupied as a persons sole or main place of residence; and(iii) the owners shall maintain an up to date register of the names and addresses of all owners/occupiers of individual caravans in the site and of their main home addresses and shall make this information available at all reasonable times to the Local Planning Authority.
The recommended decision by the officers for this application is to refuse it.
