New Parliamentary Constituencies proposed

Proposals for the new parliamentary constituencies have been announced.  The District, as before, is split as two constituencies with the East joined with parts of Southend and the West joined with Wickford & Pitsea.  The Rochford and Southend East seat has had Hockley, Hawkwell and Hullbridge added to it from the old Rayleigh & Wickford seat.

This proposal would seem to save the current incumbent Tory MP’s (James Durridge & Mark Francois) from having to find new seats at the next election.

The proposed constituencies are as follows.
