This year’s Wild Woods Day in Hockley Woods on Saturday June 4 between 11am and 4pm is set to be the biggest yet, according to the organisers. Events include
Geocaching – High-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. This activity will be led by Trailnet.
Judo – Clubmark accredited Akitas Judo will be leading sessions for everyone to try their hand at.
Archery – Clements Bowmen Archery club will have you hitting the bullseye within minutes.
Climbing Wall – Why not see if you can reach the top and get the best view of Wild Woods Day?
Fencing – Come and learn fencing with Olympian James Beevers.
Willow Butterflies – Make your own from willow and decorate it with found woodland natural objects.
Dream Catchers – Create and put together your very own Dream Catcher using found woodland objects.
Lumberjack Jazz Band – Providing upbeat, fun acoustic swinging tunes.
Hockley’s Wild Woods Day is now in its 8th Year and is one of ten flagship events around the country. There is a free shuttle bus from the Hockley Community Centre as parking at the woods itself may be a problem.
